Rachel's Halloween Program & Carnival

Today was Rachel's Preschool Halloween Program & Carnival. For Halloween this year Rachel wanted to be a Princess...of course, duh! So she chose to be Sleeping Beauty. She looked so cute!

Here she is before the Program started, first of all she sat there looking for some friends, THEN she spotted some other princess' and just HAD to visit...it was the cutest!
Here are a few pictures during the performance, she did such an AWESOME job...she kept jumping up after some of the songs and cheering, she sure does like attention!
After the performance, we took a moment for some poses:

The first picture is Grandma Miriam, Daddy & Rachel, the second is Rachel & Aunt Mckenzie.
The Carnival was A LOT of fun, there was a Cake Walk:

Then Rachel got a Halloween Tatoo put on by Aunt Kellie:And...here she is at the Bean Bag Toss and then she just HAD to try out the GIGANTIC blow up slide....WEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Miriam did such a great job putting together everything & everyone had such a great time!

Halloween Shirts

I gave in today and FINALLY let the kids wear their Halloween Shirts to school...I guess it wasn't such a bad idea since Halloween is only three days away...I think they looked super CUTE! They got so many ooh's & ah's at school because the pumpkin on their shirt lit up!

Retiring the Glasses!

We went to Moab clear back in April of this year and while we were there Rachel stepped on my glasses (bless her heart)and broke them. Clint (Macgiver) decided to fix them and got some HEAVY duty super glue and glued them back together.
I am not too sure why I haven't had them replaced before now....I guess it just felt like a inconvenience to go and get a new pair...hmmm, IDK. So...after sporting around the super-glued glasses for almost 7 months...I FINALLY got some new ones, yay! I must say though, my Dad warned me that I may be used to the super glue on the side and by some chance miss it...he may be right! Ha!
(BTW, I know this is a cheesy picture....but hey, what can I say? Cheesy is my middle name!)

Doing GREAT!

My dear sweet Mom went in yesterday for Hip-Replacement surgery. Even though my Mother has bones that are hard as rocks that made the doctor really work for his money, everything went fantastic and she is well on her way to recovery! I went to visit her today in the hospital and she looked GREAT! Here is a pic of my Mom & Dad (yes, he is a DORK!) HA HA.
It was so hilarious, I guess my dad MUST have been bored yesterday...you know, with my Mom being super drugged up and everything, so he decided to write on the dry-erase board there in her room. There was a spot where you would write down a number - one that you would call IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, well, my dad wrote 1-800-Ghostbusters. The best part about it is that my mom had a nurse this morning (with no personality) ask what it was all about and my Mom had to say that my Dad did it! I guess the lady didn't think that was funny at all, but I sure did!!!he he he.

I am truly proud of my dad...he gets AT LEAST three gold stars for the last couple of days, he took my Mom flowers BOTH yesterday AND today....double WOW! My sister's will understand my amazement, because we all know my Dad. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy and very loving, he just lacks a little when it comes to gifts....BUT, he is learning...he BETTER, with four daughters leading him along the way, right? It is so great the love he has for my Mom, he has been by her side the entire time, what a sweetheart! He even said that last night he doesn't remember even falling asleep because he was so tired, I think from all the stress & worry yesterday...I am sure that part of that was that my Mom showed him where all the *important* papers and things were in the house before they left to the hospital...you know, in case she didn't make it. I am so grateful for their dedication to one another and their example to me and my other married sisters! You are AWESOME Dad & Mom! You truly define the statement "We may not have it all together, but together we have it all".
I am glad that all went well with my Mother and I pray that her recover will be both smooth and quick. It is sad however that getting a hip-replacement is the only thing that will keep that woman in one spot for longer than a few minutes, ha ha! Love ya Mom!

Oh...and here is another picture of my Mom with all the goodies and reading material that me and Tammy Walker brought to her today. Hopefully she will find some time to check them out...between sleeping, visiting and ALL the nurses & doctors coming in and bothering her!

Last Weekend...

Friday Night I went with Miriam (my MIL), Mckenzie, her friend, & Cheltsea & Summer to Witches Night Out at Gardner's Village. We had a great time looking through the shops and *DANCING* the night away! There were so many AWESOME witches up there, I must say...I was pretty LAM-O, I need to dress up really good next year! Afterwards we went to Olive Garden for dinner, it was great to get out with *just the girls*!

On Saturday I cleaned my entire house SPOTLESS! Then I went to Maceys to get in on some AMAZING deals they were having on their food...oh, and I also stopped by the Boutique at the PG Rec Center, where I picked up some SUPER cute shoes for Rachel...but, shhhh don't tell - they are for Christmas!

On Sunday, we went to Church and then went to my in-laws for our traditional pumpkin carving night. We had Cheesy Potatoe soup in Bread Bowls, carved our pumpkins and then decorated pumpkin sugar cookies. The kids all had a great time, thanks to Miriam and all the work she put into everything! Here are our pumpkins: (Left to Right: Mine, Rachel's, Kory's, Brock's & Clint's)

You Belong in 1985

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

WOO HOO! That was a fun quiz! Thanks Shannon for the idea!

The Lord DOES provide!

I felt the need to express my gratitude for the many blessings that our family receives on a daily basis. I remember years ago feeling like things happened by chance or sometimes not even at all. I am so happy now that I am able to recognize true blessings as they come and look for the hidden blessings in my daily trials.
Today me and Clint were discussing our worries about the coming week and feeling like our budget was not going to allow us to feed our family for the coming weeks, then today Clint received a call from a friend, he ordered two roll cages, two Rhino seats & two sets of Seat Brackets. What a true blessing! I think the greatest part about it though is that Clint recognizes why things happen to us too...he made the comment, "I am so grateful that *someone* is watching out for us." I know that in the past me and Clint have somewhat lacked on our part of having Faith. But now we do KNOW that things WILL happen if we do our very best and strive to live the way that Heavenly Father would want us to...and if they don't happen, then it just wasn't meant to be. I made a glass block that sits in our kitchen that says the word "FAITH" right on it, just to remind us each and EVERY day...that it takes Faith to move forward. I think that having Faith also shows our Father in Heaven that we are willing to rely on him FIRST, before leaning on the world and worldly things...in return, we receive our MANY blessings because Heavenly Father is showing us his appreciation. Now, I know that me and Clint are NOT perfect by any means....but I do know that we TRY each and every day to be better.
I must add also, that even though it is EXTREMELY hard to lose loved ones....I KNOW that I have great comfort in knowing that they are still with us and do watch out for us daily. I find myself having many thoughts about Grandma Madolyn and Grandma Echo...so I am sure they are here watching over us more than we may think. I love these two women and miss them dearly! I am sure that without them, things would probably be different for us right now!

UEA Weekend

Last weekend we went to Mesquite, NV to visit Clint's Grandma. The weather was beautiful and we all had a fun time. Clint's family decided to join us at the last minute and I think it made it even greater for the kids because they had MORE friends to play with. We had a wonderful visit with Grandma Phyllis, she always makes us feel right at home...although, for some reason we ALWAYS tend to eat more at GRANDMA'S! We will definitely have to plan another trip in the NEAR future! Clint sure loves and looks up to his grandma and it is always so hard for him and us to leave!
Here are some pictures:

National Walk-To-School Day

Today all of the kids at Rocky Mountain Elementary were encouraged to walk to school to practice their safety skills. The kids were asked to wear yellow shirts and walk as groups...kind of like a walking school bus. Since Kory usually rides the bus with Brock, this was all-new for him. Although it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING, it sure was a great experience...Kory kept saying his legs were tired at one moment and then he would want to race me at another, then he wanted to see who could jump the farthest. (I really had to hold back considering my legs are as long as he is tall) We talked about Star Wars, Aliens, Halloween Costumes coming to life....etc, you know, the normal six year old boy conversation. It was really great to have some one-on-one time with my Sweet Kory.

Note: The reason why Brock did not walk with us is because his class is on a different schedule because he is in the State Program.

Tag...YOUR IT - #4

My friend HRH tagged anyone who wanted to play.....so, I thought, WHY NOT?
The tag goes like this. Go to your pictures, open the fourth folder & post the fourth picture.
Here is mine....
This is a picture of Brock at Moab back in April. We had gone with a large group and followed along all of the other Rhino's. Some of the sites where the group stopped gave me much anxiety because there were very LARGE cliffs and so I wouldn't allow my kids to get out of our Rhino. On this particular ride that we went on, if you look far back behind where Brock is standing is where the rest of the group had gone, apparently there was another large drop off and I didn't think my kids would want to sit in the Rhino for another stop, so we went down this small ravine so that the kids could get out and play...we had a great time! And Brock sure looks Happy!
So...I pass on this tag to anyone that would like to play along! (Hint, Hint....Kellie, Skyler, Shannon, Sasha)
