Home is a GOOD place to be!

"A home is much more than a house. A house is built of lumber, brick, and stone. A home is made of love, sacrifice, and respect. A house can be a home, and a home can be a heaven when it shelters a family. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt."~President Thomas S. Monson
I am so grateful that my kids ENJOY being home! It is so great to watch them bring their friends home and have a great time. My goal is to always have my home a place that my kids and their friends feel safe and comfortable! After all....Home is the SAFEST place to be!
Here are the boys with a couple of their friends...playing guitar hero, it is so fun to watch them with their fun and goofy personalities!

Now THAT'S what I call *TIME OUT*!

Rachel is going to be the DEATH of me! Any of you that have experienced the TERRIBLE three's & four's can relate! So...today, I thought it would be FUNNY to wrap her up in Vinyl and see if she could get out! I know, I am mean...but it was pretty HILARIOUS! Even with how tough Rachel is, she did not manage to find her way out...it is too bad that I couldn't have left her in a bit longer...think of how clean my house would have stayed!

Sleep?????

Clint has been gone for three days now and it feels like it has been F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!! The first night he was gone I literally got NO sleep. I will be honest...I am a baby and am STILL scared of the dark! (You all can laugh, it won't bother me AT ALL!) Then, the second night I couldn't fall asleep, instead I decided to hoard TWO Granny B's Sugar Cookies and an ENTIRE bag of microwave popcorn to MYSELF! Can you say...OINK, OINK! (No wonder why I couldn't get to sleep...too much butter & sugar, ewww!) So....last night was THE night to get in some good rest, after all I was HIGHLY exhausted from the lack-of-sleep from the previous nights, so you can just imagine my excitement when I was crawling into bed! My sleep was WONDERFUL.....he he he, WRONG! Poor little Rachel was up ALL NIGHT LONG with a HORRIBLE stomach ache! I felt so bad for her, she started at about 9:30 PM with screaming, crying, rolling around and kicking....MISERABLY. She woke up EVERY hour with the same episode. When she woke at 11:00 PM she was crying for her *daddy* and so I gave in and let her call him. It was so sad, I could really tell that it just tore at Clint's heart to hear his little girl so upset and not feeling well and there wasn't much he could do about it. At about 1:00 AM...still continuing with the waking up episodes I began to really get worried, you know...with all the talk about food poisoning (salmonella in the peanut butter sauce) and we had been at a Birthday Party earlier for my niece and nephew and I kept trying to think of what she may have eaten and so I decided to call my parents home...yep, at 1:00 AM! Sorry Dad & Mom, I just HAD to know if anyone else was sick too (which they weren't, phew!)! Anyways, last night was HORRIBLE which made the day a little tough because I was so EXHAUSTED! I would have LOVED having a nap, but seriously....how was that going to happen, with three EXTREMELY creative kids running around. I could just imagine waking up to Brock beating on Kory, Kory analyzing SOMETHING and Rachel running around the neighborhood....wearing who knows what, if anything at all! Not gonna happen!
So, I toughed it out today and NOW it is 11:30 PM and here I sit typing this post....what is wrong with me? All the kids are asleep...Brock and Rachel are feeling MUCH better now and tucked into their beds, so why aren't I? Hmmmm......oh yeah! I was feeling guilty tonight about the sugar cookies & popcorn that were eaten last night and the 1/2 loaf of Chocolate Chip Banana Bread & the 7 Lindt Chocolate Truffles that I ate today, so I felt like I needed to do some exercising tonight after all the kids went to bed....a mixture of dancing, kickboxing, strength training and step aerobics from 9:30 to 10:30 PM, no WONDER why I am wired right now! DUH!!!!!!
I guess that most of my sleep deprivation is self-inflicted, right? I CANNOT wait for Clint to be home, so that things can get back on schedule and life will get back to normal! I even told him tonight that I felt like something HUGE was missing....like losing an arm or a leg! It sure felt great to hear him say that he felt the same way too! Clint will not be home for AT LEAST four more days...I hope I SURVIVE and don't turn into a ZOMBIE.....or WORSE....a 500 lb CRAZY woman! (You know, from all the binge/comfort eating that is going on around here, sheesh!)

The Changing Game

Rachel is OBSESSED with changing her clothes! I am sure it is a phase, or at least I sure hope so...it may just drive my INSANE before it is over! Today I decided to take pictures of her EVERY time she changed her clothes, note: these were all taken BEFORE 2:00 PM! Her room is ALWAYS a DISASTER because all of these clothes and MORE get thrown all over her floor. I clean as much as I can, but seriously...I just can't keep up! Here are the many BEAUTIFUL outfits that she has chosen for today.....whippee!!!!

We are going PRIVATE!!!!

Clint has been bugging me about going private for some time now...and I can't say I completely disagree, I just hope I don't miss out on re-connecting with MORE of my friends on here. I have enjoyed re-connecting & hearing from Shannon, Sasha & Marci since having this blog! Anyhow, I will be going private in a week, so PLEASE all of you that LOVE checking out my blog, please send my your email address to tomlinsongraphics@msn.com so that I can add you to my friends list!

The great Snowman...or should I say Snow Woman?

Here it is!!!! The annual building of the SNOWMAN (Or I guess I should say SNOWWOMAN)!!!! We decided what better time than yesterday to get out and accomplish this great task. The snow was SO soft that making snow balls was almost impossible, so that is why we just had to dump and pack, dump and pack all of the snow. Miriam and Mckenzie came over and helped us, which was great because all of MY kids got wet, cold and tired half way through, so in the end it was me, Miriam and Mckenzie to finish the job....although, the kids did come back out to get their picture taken by MRS. FROSTY! I think we did a great job and it was A LOT of fun. There is just something about having a snowman in your front yard that makes Winter feel complete!

Twilight!!!

Okay, so I finally joined the MILLIONS in watching the movie "Twilight"....and I LOVED IT!!!! I know of many that loved it and didn't love it, but I have to question...what's not to love? I think they did a great job with this movie and CANNOT wait for the next one! Maybe I will just have to get the following books and read them on the bathroom floor in the middle of the night, since that is really the ONLY time there is peace & quiet around this house...that is if Clint isn't snoring, right? Which LATELY, with him being sick...has been quite often, which is the reason I slept on the couch last night...ugh! Anyways, that is another post!

So any of you SLACKERS that have not gone to see the movie yet...I HIGHLY recommend that you GO!!!!
